I should add that I was in school at the time, though as a student it would have still cost me about $200. As faculty, my friend got it for under $30. Why? Her job did not require it. She didn't have to provide any other documentation than showing her faculty ID. It's a perk of the job out there to be taken advantage of by those who have the contacts and resources.

It's all in the license. Similarly on most photo stock sites you can't buy an image for $1 and then print it on 10,000 t-shirts for resale. Even though you paid for it instead of downloading from rapidshare, you would end up breaking the license, which would be just about the same as stealing the photo in the first place.
