I bought a new imac last week, and due to some time constraints I hadn't set up user accounts, or parental controls yet...
Today I open my browser and find some interesting links in my top sites ( I clear my browser history each and every day to prevent them finding anything I may have been on by accident ) ... at a time when I was clearly sleeping.
One of my sons was home sick today, so I started asking him about these links that were in my history.... and he was denying it like crazy, so I bring him to the computer and show him the time stamps and links... and he still denies it LOL.
I explain to my son, that he knows what I do for a living ( computer programmer of course ) and that there's a good chance I know how my computer works, and that it's very unlikely that magic links showed up in the history....
Seems something went majorly wrong between searching for "call of duty quick scoping tips" and "best modern warfare videos" LOL...
Poor kid.. I mean I remember getting caught with a porn mag as a kid, but my parents never had a play by play like we do now thanks to browser history.
The interesting part is , that my 13 year old boy knew to check PORN HUB for porn, after 2 quick searches on youtube for "big boob asian girls"
After a nice hug, and a quick chat to let him know I'm not upset with him, and that I just don't want him learning about sex from the internet, it's a dirty dirty place... he's still to embarrassed to admit it was him, and that it must be "magic" that those links appeared in my history today
As upset as I was that his first experience with porn was a video on porn hub, can't help but feel a little pride that my boy's growing up... boys will be boys LOL.
He's got his own account back now, back on parental controls, which I'm sure he'll figure out how to disable soon enough.....
Think I'll get the kid a sports illustrated mag or something, poor guy.
