I've talked to a lot of peeps recently who are doing some real diversification with their business activities. I can't say I'm any different.

As adult fades for a lot of webmasters... What's on the horizon for you?

I got a real job and concentrating on more mainstream projects now but will still keep the porn sites going as well. Iv even gone as far as having graphics made up for my car to advertise one of my mainstream sites. So much easier doing mainstream lol

Adult business is holding up fine on my end, but I have been diversifying over the last 3 years by getting into the art market. The profit is pretty immediate, and I have some longterm investments that will HOPEFULLY pay off in the future.

Adult is like a GOLD mine that has been exhausted when it was 700 dollar an ounce.

Now that the ounce is almost 1500 dollars, and there is no Gold mines left in adult, some people are trying to find the little gold nuggets to get some money.

Every time I come back to adult forums, I see webmasters who used to make lots of money in the past and now can't find any way to make money in a new business, most webmasters are lost or looking for a dayjob to pay their bills.

Some people have been copycats for 10 years, and that worked great, since the average gallery submitter did between 500K and 2million dollars submitting galleries.

But it's over now. And they have been structured to do the same monkey job for 10 years and now can't find any new business.

I'm shocked to see the ignorance most adult webmasters have about mainstream.. in mainstream you can do money like you did in adult in year 2002. I wonder why there are almost no adult webmasters working in mainstream. Instead they struggle to make some bucks in adult (10 times less than what they did in 2002).. Sure you can find 1 out of 50 webmasters who found a way to blackhat, cookie stuff or fake e-whore cam sites or dating and make 5K per month.. Until they are caught and they lose everything and are banned for life...

I do some adsense sites, but the money are not really great there. What really makes me great money these days is that I build small sites for my brother's company, each for specific key phrase. I'm really happy that I have spend so much time in adult, because I have learnt a lot about SEO and how to survive in very competitive business. In terms of adult, I'm now in business with very low competition, ratios are like 1:20 and average "sale" 200$ problem is that there is really only low amount of people who are looking for this product, but I'm sure it will be possible to make 2000$ per month until end of the year. After last two horrible years in adult things are finally getting better and maybe the hard times in adult are useful for me now.

i'm getting tired of hearing the word 'mainstream', its so vague. it means anything but adult but in no way indicates how people are making money with it. adsense? selling actual products? what? people always saying, oh im getting into mainstream, i think 8 out of 10 really has no idea what they are doing in 'mainstream'.
