                                  Hey now, that is not true. I am Catholic and there are many good things the church does. They do have their problems, but so do a lot of other religions.

                                                                  I was raised catholic, from a LONG line of catholics...my mother and father were also catholic

                                                                  I learned a VERY young age how hypocritical the catholic church was, my mom and dad also wised up later on in life....something happened in our family and instead of being accepting and forgiving of my family, they shunned them...it was very "uncatholic" of them

                                                                  regardless, our entire family is VERY anti-catholic these days...it is a horrible religion to be associated with

                                                                  not to mention just about every priest is a child molestor...what is the stat about that? only 1 out of 4 are actually reported...LOL...yeah, great religion

                                                                          I have to disagree with you that just about every Catholic priest is a child molestor. It is a small group when you consider how many priests there are. I am sorry that something bad between your family and the church. That does not make every priest a pedophile and I think it is sad that you would even post such a thing. There are plenty of good and honest priests, it is a shame that they have to be drug down because of the bad ones.

                                                                              I agree 100% Jane. I am a life long practicing Catholic as well and I know many priests who are upstanding model citizens. A few bad apples don't ruin the entire bunch.

                                                                                              over 800 priests had been removed from ministry and that there might be as many as 5,000 with allegations against them, which is not that far off. He often claimed that by far the most calls he received from all victims of any kind of clergy abuse were those from males who suffered abuse in their youth in the Catholic Church. Certainly these figures, which show that the highest number of victims were 12 year old boys and that 80% of the abuse was homosexual in nature, validate that anecodotal evidence, too.

                                                                                                  You also ever notice that a majority of these cases are over 20 to 30 years old when they are finally reported? Very few have ever been reported right after they happened. Ever occur to you that some of these people could be lying to just get some money? I would not put that past anyone in this day and age. You also mentioned 800 priests that have been removed. 800 out of how many priests worldwide? Like I said a very small number of priests are molestors or accused molestors. That part I can tell you could care less about. You have such a hard on for the Catholic church it doesn't matter to you if there are good priests. You just want to label them all molestors. Kind of funny since you work in a field where people want to label us as pervs.

                                                                                                                      they don't agree with your position...they agree that this is a MAJOR problem in the catholic church that branches all the way up to the highest levels. It is covered up and paid off so much that there is no way to really tell how deep the rabbit whole goes

                                                                                                                      on a side note: my earliest memory of the catholic church is them telling us that getting drunk is a bad thing, blah blah blah....then we have the annual fall picnic and them pulling beer trucks up to the parking lot and just tapping the beer trucks...they didn't even bother to pull kegs out, they just tapped the sides of the trucks...usually 3-4 of them for 500 or so people

You yourself stated that almost all priests are molestors. I am sure your close priest friends appreciate that. Hell maybe they are molestors too. No one said it was not a problem, but you make it out to be all priests are on the lookout for kids to molest and that is just not true. There are bad priests that are molestors, but there are also plenty of good ones that you seem to be forgetting about. Plenty of priests are not molestors and you should not try and put them all int he same group. Read your own posting, that is what you are trying to do. Think what you want, but it is sad that you neglect to mention anything good about priests.

Anyone with a brain knows that in Catholic schools you don't do stupid shit like that. We all know that we will get a horrible punishment. You get the paddle with the holes in it, or the best was the ruler across the knuckles. That hurt like a bitch.
