unless jpfdude magically reappears, or somebody comes up with some sort of solution, I guess I will handle it. (not like I have time, but what the fuck am I gonna do, right?) XFR was the first to step up and offer to host the sites for the competition, and I'm sure they are still willing. So, when the time comes, and as you complete your tours, email them to me in a zip file along with your name so I know who they're from, and I'll set them up on a page with a number next to it and we'll have the vote right here on the good ol' GFY polling system.
I don't need your domain, and don't put the tour on your domain until afterwards.... I don't want a link to it, I want the zipped tour so I can put them all in a neat little row with anonymous numbers so the voting can be as fair as possible.
The only potential problem I see with using the GFY poll system is I don't know how many different options it allows. So we may have to do it in groups, because there's ALOT of contenders now.

i congratulate you on figuring out surfers want porn, not graphics. maybe now you can move on to world peace, or the isreali/palestinian conflict - perhaps i'll give you some photography tips if you want some.. and then you can tell me why graphics do make a difference, even if it's not what the surfers are there for... deal?

a flash piece that builds as it loads (which should be as close as we get to the bad old days of flash intros) should detect when someone is coming back and skip straight to the finished version, therefore you never have to sit through it again. and the only reason you had to in the first place was to let it load.. people are used to the way html loads.. piece by piece.. so you have to load the flash in a similar way.. not keep it behind a loading graphic until it's finished.. or it's like having all your html in a table and having to load the contents of the table before it's displayed.Last edited by bhutocracy; 05-27-2002, 11:35 PM.Comment
