I registered a profile on that site. The amount of fake activity is extreme.
I received a message from another "member" even before I received the welcome message from the admin.

Do people really fall for that?

Hey Fris, I'm a huge fan of LC and they convert for me also, but I hope you realize that they also do some of things you seem concerned about with xprofiles.

If you confirm your address yes you will be sent a couple reminder emails, much like other programs do. In fact I joined xxxbb, the program you are pushing currently, confirmed my email, and received 2 emails of "members" flirting with me within 15 minutes all before even uploading a profile pic. Then 2 more, one within 90 minutes and another 2 hours later. If you want to call that spam then yes I guess we do the same, all with the hopes of that member converting into a premium membership.

Any member that joins and requests to have the emails ceased is obliged.

If given the opportunity to talk/call/icq you, you'd be surprised at what I have to share with you. I'm almost positive we could get you to test some things.

I don't understand the issue. If I'm getting multiple paid signups daily, then customers are pleased with what they're seeing. I guess you could argue it's an illusion of pleasure and it's all really fake but you can't actually prove any of that.
