I started reading Diary a little while ago, but didn't make it far before I got distracted by another book, I suppose I'll get into it again in a bit. I'm pretty stoked on Rant though, I read the rundown on it a couple days ago and it sounds like a solid Palahaniuk novel to me...Comment

No I haven't had a chance to read lullaby yet, but they do have it in at the library here. I'm reading Demian by Hermann Hesse at the moment. It's a small book, i'll probably finish it in another couple sittings, then I'll have to pick up Lullaby and give it a read...Comment

the ending pisses me off.. without spoiling what actually happens .. HOW the fuck does it make sense
i can understand the twist but not the end actions by the lead character...

if you've ever read any chuck palahniuk books you'd be use to this. they're all twisted little tales the lead up to some abrupt climax that doesn't really answer any question as to the future. pretty surreal stuff if you ask me. i find the stories really drag you in quickly, lead you quickly, and drop you off quickly. like after all this crazy shit just happened, none of it matters, and it doesn't matter whats going to happen. that's some nihilism for ya...Comment

Fight Club is probably in my top five movies and the book is well up there as well (althought I agree with Halcyon that Survivor is Chuck's best book)
Watch this movie now if you haven't seen it. You won't be disapointed.
On a side note, if you are a fan of Chuck Palahniuk, his book Choke is being adapted into a film. I think filming starts this summer for a 2008 release. People attached to the film as well as Chuck himself are really excited and have said that it is going to be as good if not better than Fight Club.

Rant was pretty good. Actually, I liked it a lot to be honest. I know that many of the die hard palahniuk fans weren't too impressed, but I liked the fact that it was a departure from his usual style while still maintaining the usual wierd and fucked up turns that are standard palahniuk.
From what I have read on the interweb, this is the first in a trilogy about the town that Rant grew up in so I think we will get a bit more backstory next year when the next one comes out.
