How would that possibly work? Your lawyer could file the civil suit, and hire a process server to serve the station with the suit. You never have to come anywhere near them, or even be in the courtroom, unless the judge decides that you should be.

I don't see how one has anything to do with the other.... Then again I would never claim to know anything about australian law...

Technically I probably could but I have another 5 years for the defamation time limit and I don't like my chances at this point in time.

That video is B/S. His point 1 is a flat out lie, he says there is no way talking to police can help your case!

You EITHER talk to the detective at the cop shop

OR you answer to the police prosecutor in court!

The next thing police say after 'Do you want to do an interview?'

is 'YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!'.

Get it? Say NO to an interview -> go straight to prison! No more opportunity to prove your innocence without a high priced lawyer, a big public PR image and plenty of publicity.
