Not dead at all, changing maybe but not dead

The gravy train I experienced between 1996 and 2004 is over, however there are new and innovative ways to make money in adult and you don't need the Manwin model to do it.

Half the problem is that people are not changing their business models to different times.

The days of simply being able to put up a tour, insert protected content with a subscription system in between are either numbered or already over.

People will pay for interactivity, cams still do well because its real, dating sites still do well because it holds out real hope of getting laid, virtual worlds (while slow to take off due to various issues) will become more common and also make money.

Every industry needs to evolve. People made a fortune during the gold rush years of the 19th century just by picking up alluvial gold and digging relatively small reef mines. However more gold is produced now than ever, using more sophisticated methods of mining. This analogy is true of adult, the overall business is bigger than it was 10 to 15 years ago but you can't just go walking down an ancient river picking up gold nuggets anymore.

Too many people here are stuck in old business models and are fooling themselves into thinking new niches, or slicker websites are the answer, whereas new business models are the answer.

Well, I thought feb was going to be the worst month this year like it normally is for me. But march sucks! It's far worse than february and that is saying something

It's 6:23 am here in California. On a Wednesday, traditionally the worst day of the week for sales. And I've had four affiliate sales this morning. By the end of the day I might have even made some money. Might not be big pimping, but I'm living.

im actually glad its more challenging because now it makes people actually work to earn a living and a lot of these bs sites that people create on their lunch break will die off so less saturation or content in the market place

These 'there is no money in porn' threads are becoming pretty lame, actually they were lame to begin with. Firstly, anyone who has all their eggs in the one basket is a fool, because times change and fortunes come in waves. Secondly, I see lot's of complaints but no innovation.

Basic porn site, tour, billing, protected content is a fucked business model now, people expect something different, so stop complaining and fucking give the people what they want, then you will start making money again.

Give people something they will want, but don't know they want right now and you will be set for life, nobody wanted tablets once, now the iPad 2 is sold out in some countries. Nobody wanted real social networking once, MySpace created a new wave and Facebook perfected the idea which sites like LiveJournal were embryonic in the construction of that want.

While there is scope for imagination, forward thinking and putting your balls on the line, then there is money to be made in this industry.
