Because no one who does adult web design on their own (freelancers) makes 50 grand a year doing it. Sure you might see someone saying they have "thousands" of clients
running their shitty backwoods outsourcing operation or are booked for 17 years and do adult web design but they are full of shit.
So an opportunity like that (if it's even real) is very good pay for anyone/freelancers who actually want to do it full-time and actually make some real money doing it.Comment

It's a quantity thing, just look over the posts on the page, someone wants 20 gals built, someone else want stuff done, the majority of designers are lazy, and their time management skills suck. Work 12 hours a day if you have to and you'll make $$ even doing cheap stuff.
Last weekend someone wanted 30 banners, so instead of going out Saturday I did 30 banners. $300.
Other person wants a mobile site designed not coded, $150. for 3 hours work.
The work is there. I don't consider myself a good designer, but I do get the job done.
Not that $48k a year for an 8 hour day isn't a good wage it is. But it's possible to do that freelancing, may need to to a few more hours.Last edited by v4 media; 03-29-2011, 03:06 AM.Comment

True but 10 galleries at $20 is better than none at $40.
if you already have the templates/logos and all the coding done. Switch out a header and the graphics in photoshop, crop 15 thumbs/cut up a vid and voila.
$200 for a good days work. Even if you're starting off and they take you longer, once done you have a good batch of templates to work from, so next time you'll be quicker.
Keep galleries simple and use html over graphics where possible, dont fill a page with stuff for the sake of it.Comment

Well no offence but your gallerys must not look very good if you're able to do 10 of them in one day. Theres differences between the quality of gallerys. A really good looking gallery takes time to design... there are gallerys out there that would be almost equal in quality to a nice paysite page tour... and I bet they convert too...
so when you really think about.. paying $40 for a real nice gallery page is nothing considering only one sale from it might make you $30.00+... then any sales after that is basically all profit.
so you invested 40.00 on a gallery that over the years will bring in who knows how many sales. But guaranteed much more than $40 worth of sales.Comment

You all are forgetting 50% taxes in Canada, plus Montreal is an ice box in the winter and hot as hell in the summer, so be prepared to pay utilities of $1000/mo. on top of your rent. Living expenses overall are very expensive, from groceries (add 30% to US prices) to gasoline ($5/gallon) to car insurance ($2k+ a year). Really $48k is maybe enough to live on, but not a great life. The city is also a Hatian and Lebonese hell hole.

Stop making others rich. And try making yourself rich instead. Doing $20 gallery pages won't.
No one can produce 10 gallery pages a day and say they are high quality.

What you fail to understand is that if a client wants multiple galleries for low prices they will get them, if however they want to spend more and get better quality they will get them too. But there's a lot less of that kind of work around.
Did I get 'gypped big time' I dont think so I put in the hours and got the $$..
Also I dont recall saying they were high quality, what they are $20 galleries, they will never be the Sistine chapel, they do however work, otherwise bangbros would not have used my services for 7 years.
