Actually a pro shooter might to create something very different. But there are much easier ways.
IMO this is a dumb idea for a pro or amateur shooter and would cost more than the flashes I linked to. And be less affective. Putting a cheap flash on a tripod with a lead attached to fire it and using filters for effect is a much better way.
It's a useless idea for any shooter and showing it and saying this
"It's not amazing photography but it proves that you can make beautiful pictures with a minimal investment in lighting and a bit of knowledge."

If I had posted this lame idea everyone would be rightly flaming me. Just because Dean posted it doesn't make it a good idea. That's the problem with GFY. The messenger is more important than the message.
