                                                                Here are my two cents. I think it's good anytime someone donates to a cause such as this. Cleaning up this sick act is first and foremost and anyone who can help should be commended for it.

                                                                However, I do think some people are bringing up good points. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for it, but there are some questions that should be asked. While it is ridiculous to think that AFF supports CP, their ads do appear on the same page as CP files. Those affiliates have been brought to the attention of AFF, and their ads have remained. I don't think there are a lot of affiliates who would allow their ads to be placed next to CP (perhaps I'm wrong though). But that is beside the point. AFF has a right to choose their affiliates and a right to make money how they seem fit. If there is a legal question, their lawyers would handle it. It honestly doesn't affect anyone here.

                                                                The question is whether it hurts the integrity of the ASACP in the future. ASACP has been a faithful and credible supporter of legitimate porn in the US. They have spoken out against obscenity witch hunts and other issues that hurt us. They are a huge asset in our corner. But what if a savvy anti-porn person with influence finds the link between ASACP - AFF - Sites that promote CP. It could hurt their integrity, cause, and voice. Like I said, I could give a shit where AFF advertises, but I hope this doesn't bite ASACP in the ass.

Let me start out by saying that I am not defending Lars of AFF, but this has got to be one of the most pathetic threads I have seen on GFY in a long time.

                                                                                                                                Where do you think the money for the AFF donation and sponsorship of ASACP comes from? In part, it comes from supporting the very sites that help to make CP and other illegal material available. The twisting comes from Lars and his company not being able to come forward and say "We will fight against the torrent sites that promote CP, we know we were wrong, we will change our ways, and we will also fiancially support ASACP"... instead, he gives us all the middle finger (see his thread over the weekend about a new thing that is going to piss people off that was a pre-cursor to this deal). He will continue to profit from the sites that distributre the CP, the illegal material and the content stolen from other sites, and he will give a very small part of that money to ASACP, which is somehow suppose to make it all okay.

                                                                                                                                If you can't see just how fucking twisted that is, you truly have your head up your ass and deserve to not only give money to the cause, but to have your content ripped off and spread around for free as well, to the profit of AFF.

                                                                                                                                In a vacuum with no other outside influences, AFF's move is great, and I commend them for it. But in light of their inability to walk away from almost every bad way of making money, I have to say that I hope the ASACP tells them to take their money back, because at the end of the day, they aren't helping to get rid of CP in the least.

                                                                                                                                                In a vacuum with no other outside influences, AFF's move is great, and I commend them for it. But in light of their inability to walk away from almost every bad way of making money, I have to say that I hope the ASACP tells them to take their money back, because at the end of the day, they aren't helping to get rid of CP in the least.

AFF does get kudos for supporting ASACP much like the many fine sponsors who have joined over the many years.

                                                                                                                                                                                I have submitted numerous CP or potential CP sites to asacp over the years. There are any number of old timers that will let you know that my stand is clear and my actions have been concrete.

                                                                                                                                                                                Most important, this isn't about ME. It is about AFF. Even if I did absolutely nothing to combat CP, I would have also done nothing to help promote it - and that puts me ahead of them as far as I am concerned.


                                                                                                                                                                                Fightthispatent: There are any number of threads already on the subject of where the AFF ads can be found with CP and material pirated from other sites. Nobody from AFF has even attempted to deny it, nor have they stepped up to take action. They could do way more to cut down on CP by stopping the flow of money to torrent sites and being a little more selective in who they let into their programs, than giving 10k to ASACP. Spending that 10k to get programmers to ban all URLs with the word "torrent", "hack" and "pirate" from their program would likely be more productive.

                                                                                                                                                                                Like I said, taken in a vacuum, I comment AFF for stepping up with ASACP, but the balance, if the intent is to help cut down on the availability and distribution of CP, they could have done many better things (but that would have cost them bottom line money).
