This thread has inspired a ton of bullshit. And a lot of mindless flaming from trolls. And then an idea hit my tiny mind, well it's been mentioned here already, so it's not really my idea.

How about some of the trolls put their money and/or skills where their mouth is?

I propose a shooters contest, including Fabian's, on our skills to shoot decent porn.

We all shoot a solo girl scene, the easiest and cheapest so there's no excuses, of a set and a video. 120 frames and 15-25 minutes video.

We find someone anonymous or impartial to host the content. It will all be watermarked the same.

Then people can vote on who is the best.

If they spot the Czech girl I expect to lose.

So who's up for it?

I'm not sure what Paul would do with a "challenge" from somebody else. He didn't take this "challenge" seriously until Fabian agreed to pay his price. That is what is driving this thread. And you can watch all the people attacking Markham and babbling on and on about whether or not this "challenge" can be met...and it's like watching a Pro wrestling match. But instead of two guys pretending to be fighters and one guy is the good guy and one guy is the bad guy...we have one guy pretending to have any knowledge of porn at all (Fabian), and one guy pretending that he gives a shit (Paul)

That's what is really happening here. And I love watching it.
In the end, I'll still respect Paul for his work over the years. That is real. Fabian? Uh...I respect him for programming the first version of NATS. He was a good employee at TMM. Then he opened a small paysite and affiliate program and it failed big time. Then he talked his way into his current job working for the real owners of Manwin. And that really is kinda impressive.
Had to be some MASSIVE bullshit con job to be able to convince them to let a guy who had never ran a successful porn company or even been on set at a porn shoot....run this for them.

I'm amazed at this thread. A person who should be vilified on any industry board is being supported by trolls.

Fabian is clueless about porn, his sites are full of crap to medium quality content. I will post a review later of one of the scenes on Brazzers, it's the worse porn scene I've ever seen. The guy who thought up the idea and gave the script to the shooter should be fired.

If that's the quality of the staff running the content side you just have to wonder what the fuck are they doing.

As for Fabian. Like you I think he's a puppet. He's obviously clueless about porn and even though I'm sure NATS is a good system it's probably nothing a good programmer couldn't do. I doubt very much that he had the money to buy Mansef. And some of those proposing he went to the bank or found backers are showing their knowledge of real business. They might be able to do that with Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler. But not Mansef with a money laundering charge hanging over it.

In all honesty I hoped this would happen. I hope now a few sponsors or custom shooters take this challenge up so they can show their skills. But will they?

All should love the opportunity to show what their sites are full of or skills are. In reality they won't.

If you were able to shoot for magazines $3,000 for a set wouldn't be that amazing. Now you shoot for ATK and it seems amazing. Don't you wish you had gotten in earlier. Like in 2005.

was shooting for atk in 2000. never been really interested in shooting for mags Paul to be honest about it... when I got out of film TV it was nice to dump all all the hype/bullshit out of my life. wasn't really looking to bring it all back. plus I wasn't a photographer at the time... so go ahead and post laughing Gif's and feel superior to all of us if it takes you though the night (do you have a small dick? you sure act like it)

So here's a review of the worse scene I've seen in a very very long time.

Irish girl video with Trina Micheals.
The scene starts off with some backing music, it's an Irish Jig!!

The editor is taking the piss with the Irish music. Too loud and too silly.

Also the shooter starts the scene off by zooming in and out. I'm getting dizzy already.

Again a mega fake studio scene I think this is honor of St David's Day more than porn.

This scene could be any girl as so far we've seen little of her, except her rear.

3 minutes in and I had to stop wanking to do an Irish jig to keep in theme with the music.

8:52 and the guy appears and the editor turns off the fuck awful fucking music (what happened to good fucking music in porn?).

15:40 into the scene and all that has happened is the guy ramming things into the girls ass, the girl has her lines off pat.

One of the reasons sales are falling is as you point out Tubes are far better than most membership sites. They're full of low quality porn and the major money is spent on marketing to get new customers to replace old customers.

So customers start to see that paid porn isn't delivering what they want. The next time they see a site that might interest them they remember the bad experiences and are more wary. As this repeats itself they become more and more wary. In the end Tubes are the better choice.

Of course if you believe what a marketing man tells you over your own experiences you're one of the few.

This is the problem, we have all built up suspicions after being sold something by fast talking salesmen or glossy ads. We learn. Yet we think the surfer doesn't he will keep giving us his money, so long as we do the marketing right.

And what ever we do manage to sell him, once he gets into the site the retention relies 100% on the content. Too many scenes like the ones on Brazzers and he's off, never to return.

We were never interested in shooting for ATK after we did 2 shoots and realised $1500 for 5 full scenes was shit money. That's my excuse for not shooting much custom.

What's your excuse for not being really interested?

As for bullshit and hype. Never got that from magazine editors. They were always dead straight, told you right away what they thought and if they would buy.

And that set? I could use it.
