    The biggest waste of bandwidth on the web

    my vote goes to sex.com

    what the fuck were those guys thinking when they turned it into a PPC engine?

    what kremen shoul dhave done is the following

    1) started up tgp.sex.com - image the sheer quantity of bookmarked surfer traffic that site would have now

    2) made it into a paysite ie. ebony.sex.com - imagine the huge ass member base that site would have now

    3) made it into an affiliate program - they spam webmasters anyway so rather than just spamming them for nickel and dime amounts why not spam them for an affiliate program where they can make long term residual revenues instead of webmasters spending $50 on testing their traffic, finding out it is pure garbage recycled and never buying any again

    4) left it as a cohen banner farm, even though cohen was the biggest crook of his time the site still made money

    anyone have anything else they would add to this list?

          actually there were many more than 5 banners on the site when it was a farm, i beleive the figure was closer to 2 pages each with 25 on ;)

                  maybe after all the legal disputes he was low on dough.

                  completely agree, he could have developed the domains and
                  made millions every month, but that takes time. PPC doesn't
                  take time.

                                                                          cant believe people still bring this up. sex.com never did as good as it did once it hit kremens hands. Had no clue what was going on...and as the saying goes "dont fix what ain't broken." It was a well oiled machine cranking in consistent advertising dollars, and most advertisers at the time were pretty happy with the results...most kept coming back each month! Oh well. Great read from the past if people are ever interested in learning about it. And Cohen was a pretty unique character!!!! There should of been a mini series on this. Maybe Chis Mallick can write a movie on this!!!!!
