Do you do video encodeing with your laptop?

I don't, I could but wouldn't....you defenitely want a solid workstation with
hardware video encoding card, lots of hdd space preferably scsi for the stuff
you're working on and sata to store the finished vids.

yeah i render some videos ocasionally on my laptop
i was surprised to see that it doesnt have serious heating problems
as long as the cooling system is properly cleaned often it should be ok

but still if you are going to do that a lot, i recommend desktop
