    Gilbert Godfrey Fired For Offensive Japan Jokes
    Comedian Gilbert Godfrey has been fired from his job as the voice of the duck for Aflac Insurance after he tweeted inappropriate and insensitive Japan Tsunami jokes on March 12 and 13th. The insurance company released a statement: ?Gilbert?s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac,? the company, which does 75% of its business in Japan, said in a statement. ?There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.? He has deleted the insensitive jokes but you can be completely offended by them if you visit BuzzFeed where they have captured screen shots of the worst ten. The 8.9 earthquake and subsequent Tsunami is so devestating that it?s impossible to see the humour in it, but especially not this soon. Mind you, I don?t think ever. What do you think? Gilbert just doing his job as a comedian or much too offensive regardless?

                                                              The joke is called "the Aristocrats" and it's as old as time. Not really his joke and it's supposed to be completely vulgar and shocking in it's telling.

                                                              GGs stand up is generally vulgar and unfunny, he excercised poor judgement with the Japan jokes, but I wouldn't fault him for his ver of Aristocrats.

My point is that Alfac certainly didn't cre about it's image having a spokesman that "jokes" about incest, pedophilia and the other shit, but earthquake jokes were over the line? That's my point.                                                                                   If every comedian and every funny person just stopped telling jokes and being funny every time something bad happens in the world this place would become a horribly dull cesspool that I wouldn't even want to be a part of anyway.. so maybe his jokes weren't that funny, but damn did he give it a try anyway didn't he?

I guess it's their call as to where the line is on taste and on who or what their company's rep is based on.

If you don't like it don't watch him. That being said Aflac has a right to fire him but they should have known since he was the first comedian to joke about 9/11.
