In general, the US school system is really weak. But it compensates by good level of their special and high-level education system (I mean colleges, universities etc).

It's obvious that we all forgot most of what we learnt at school, does it mean that the system is in ruins, just that u can't remember what u were taught at 10 and never used again in the following 50 years.
