It's been obvious for the past few quarters--Google is eating up the iPhone's smartphone market dominance. If it keeps up this trend, Apple might find itself in the same position it does in the computer space--an (influential but) secondary player.
The remaining question is: will Tablet dominance follow?
Apple's definitely a tech herald--they pioneer a market, then someone else dominates.
