The "wedding" is not of the traditional sorts, it is purely contractual. There will be a ceromony, a reception, the whole nine yards minus a state wedding license. Yet yes I would still call this a wedding and it is legally binding.Comment

Please read carefully!
I have read and seen some issues in regards to this whole ordeal as well as considerations concerning why I do not just buy such an item myself, I am successful after all right?
As I has explained in another post I extended myself with contractors, evicted some renters to do it, help finance another start up paysite, and then got hospitalized for three months and a few days with only really medicare coverage. Leaving me with a large bill.
Oh and I had already pretty much paid for and pre planed the entire "wedding" before I went into the hospital.
In other words I am not broke but then again I have very few liquid assets at all and next to no available credit left.
I personally feel with the mentality right now that I should just refund what cash gifts I have received and call this auction off now before people start to get nasty around here. I will decide by morning.Comment

Some of these skeptics should be ashamed of themselves. The rumor mill is always churning out new crap. WTF is wrong with people and their pathetic lives to start ridiculous shit with a crippled man?! Not even a stranger, a well known, established webmaster and program owner in this community that has helped more people with his wisdom and contacts than I can even count.
How ignorant and judgmental can you be to ask questions like "why not give the chair away after a dance?" Umm... if ASM isn't a worthy disabled person for the chair, then who is? Is this a contest between several paralyzed people? NO! Seriously, WTF?
It's true, ASM makes a fine living. He does very well for himself. Just for that, he should be given the utmost respect. Most people get the sniffles and go on government disability. Personally, I don't think any respectable disabled person has to justify why they should have the best technology out there to be as mobile as possible but as ASM has mentioned several times, he doesn't have medical insurance other than the bit that medicare pays for. He is pre-disqualified by most if not all insurance companies because of his pre-existing condition.
He is pre-disposed to all sorts of illnesses because of his condition. He was just in the hospital for 3 months because of an infection that went to his bones. And yet, he still works and helps others, to this day being in pain and on heavy medications.
Before his unexpected hospital stay, he was planning his "wedding", started renovation on his home and evicted some of his tenants not anticipating his sickness or very expensive hospital stay.
Even if ASM was a complete stranger, I'd still want him to get this chair. I think many of us take our mobility and other basic advantages for granted. Several of you should be ashamed of yourself for even making him go through this unneeded embarrassment and stress.
This started as a very sweet and honest thing for him by his FRIENDS. Do any of you have true friends? Seems not, because if you did, you would understand why people that care for him and sympathize with his situation are doing this for him. This should have never gone this route. I'm so saddened by this.
I can't think of a more worthy cause than helping out a friend and community leader. ASM, allow your friends to carry through with what you deserve.
Thanks again to all the people that were so generous and helpful. To the few that are so apathetic and skeptical, go spread your ignorance somewhere else. Let this go in peace, please.

anyone can always second guess any decision.
Even if you had a billion dollars ,i would still think its a good gift anyways and i'm glad to be part of it.. if we based every gift on the person recieveing its financial position or "need" we would never give anything to anyone heh.
