Do you think IPs matter to search engines when linking between your own sites, especially blogs? I've heard it matters, and I've heard it doesn't matter, and I've heard that if it's on the same IP block it matters even if it's different IPs.

yes, they do. if your domain is on the same ip as another domain that is penalized, you will get penalized. look into class cI like Boobs.Comment

IPs play an important role in link network detection, but this doesn't necessarily mean all sites on the IP get a penalty, only the sites interlinked. It takes alot to get an IP penalty. Many hosts have hundreds of sites (virtual hosting accounts) hooked to one IP and the sites rank well.
But anyway, interlinking many sites on the same IP isn't good, no matter what kind of penalty we are talking about....but having hundreds of sites on the same IP with no ties between them is no problem.Comment

You won't get as much link love if it's under the same c-block and if you do it a lot (100s), you will be penalized.Comment
