I guess Apple figures if they stick to their guns long enough people will just get over it, but their restrictive software allowances are enough to keep me away. This is probably one of the key stupid shit decisions Apple has gone by. I will be buying one as soon as they release a jailbreak for it. Until a jailbreak comes out it is a no deal because crippled hardware just plain sucks. On the plus side that should be like march 12th
I can not wait to get my grubby hands on a sweet unleashed jailbroken ipad 2 with legit multi-tasking and a notification system that does not suck dog nuts.Comment

Yeah, that's the major problem. It's hit and miss with too many sites. More sites than not are way behind with technology and aren't iPad compatible.
Unless a site offers their videos in MP4 or h.264 and are using HTML 5 to server them you can't see the vids on an iPad.
Of course there are software products like the Elevated X CMS (shameless plug) that do automatic server side video conversion and can bulk transcoder a site's videos into other formats so they can be watched or downloaded on an iPad.
Biz-wise we'll get the new one mainly for testing. Personally I probably won't get it since the current one I have has been sitting in a drawer untouched for the last six months.

The iPhone 4 had not just 1, but 2 cameras, click cpu and gpu, etc, while the original ipad seemed like it was based on older technology. The new Ipad now does everything the iphone4 does which makes it much sexier, and now even smaller and lighter. That's... incredible! I can't resist, and will be buying one this month.Comment

The hilarious shit is that Apple probably could have put this exact model out when the first iPad came out, but they still managed to get all you idiots to bite when the first release came. Now you're all itching to ditch the old model and grab the newer shinier toy already. Odds are they've already got the ipad3 pretty much cooked up with a load of features they probably could have included in this release, and are just checking off days until they can wash, rinse, and repeat on their loyal following of lemmings...
As long as they insist on releasing a half assed product with pointless limitations on the use of what is otherwise an impressive piece of hardware, they aren't on my wishlist. Well, I'd take one for free, but I won't be buying one...

saw the iPad at Best Buy last month and didn't impress me at all which suprised me because I liked the previous gen iPods a lot.
I thought it was heavy, the button was constantly refusing to click or getting stuck, and it was a bit sluggish when I tried opening apps.......

Xoom doesn't have flash yet either, but it's coming with the next Flash release so they say. Really that is probably one the only downfalls of the iPad. Otherwise it's got it all. Oh, and the iPad don't handle Javascript either do they? Accept web standards already for fuck sakes.Comment
