Manson has always struck me as an above average intellect. His commentary in 'Bowling for Columbine' was extremely insightful and generally, he's got a lot to say that people should listen to.
Unfortunately, most people really can't get past his look

interesting how what brought him to the attention of America also keeps him from being taken seriously by the same people.

Quoted for truth... Its kinda sucks at times when you say you like Manson and people just assume he is just a freak and has nothing to say but if you listen to his music and even more so in his interviews and writings you can really tell the man is very smart. His views are not often popular but they are always very well thought out and have alot behind them when put in context. As someone else also stated he is a master of PR and his looks are what got him popular and into the "mainstream" audience and in peoples living rooms on shows like Donahue.
I really appreciate his work, and i love his music. In many talk shows, interviews he told that with his music he want to send some of his beliefs about drugs guns and government and about at all america :P
Most maybe think he is some kind of satanist, as he looks like it, is in Church of Satan, but take a look at his lyrics, and what really is satanism? Only some bloody silly rituals, or sth bigger, some philosophy???
Yes he is! I love him, I remember when I was younger, my mother took away my older sister's tapes of Michael Jackson, because she felt that it was putting 'bad ideas' into her head... so when I decided that I liked Marilyn Manson, I figured to keep her from doing the same thing to me, I was going to have to get my arguments ready, so I could keep listening to him.
I sat down & wrote out by ear, every single lyric (This was before I had internet access) to all of his songs on the Anti-Christ album. It was an enlightening experience... there's a lot to them that when you take the time to listen, -really- listen to what he's actually saying... there's a great deal of truth to all of his lyrics... the only "negative" thing about most of his songs on that album happens to be that most people can't handle the truth. Truth about society, about human nature, about life in general.

I don't know her music but your words are right, most people can't handle the truth...I think everyone is hiding sometimes though.
I interviewed him years ago when I was writing for a music magazine. He is an interesting guy. He is well spoken, intelligent and was one of the cooler people I ever interviewed.

not my kind of music, but you cant say he doesnt seem pretty smart. i loved how he said that hes glad people kill themselves over song because people that dumb dont contribute to society.
Only time I ever heard of him was when I moved to Florida when I was 14 and there was a rumor around my school that he got some of his ribs removed so he can suck his own dick.
