leather repair? (cat claw holes)

Put the cat in a spare bedroom with a bunch of toys and a table near the window so it can look outside. This answer won't fix the couch but will prevent you strangling it when it fucks up again. And it will.

Now, now, now, from what I remember there are a few canine acts of destruction at the baddog house .... Of course cats do it on purpose so you do have a valid point.
