Oh no, I don't have any articles written on that. I would say however thought that in terms of SEO the total link count rules still apply, so it could in fact hurt your overall seo.
In terms of money making, I don't really know how well something like this would work. I would have to leave the advice on this to someone with far more experience. But it is indeed an interesting idea.
