Here's a bump.
I have shot LA girls, with another shooter, and they were a nightmare. But none were from LA originally. -
That is really a tough question to answer. I shoot in Az and at times, the new model seems to be the most difficult to predict and generally a pain in the ass. For the most part, all models are generally flaky depending on their priorities for the day, but there are times when you do find a model that turns out to be a pleasure to work with.

Poll results won't be accurate, because most of the producers did not work all those locations. For instance you'll have 100 producers worked LA and 10 worked midwest. Lets say midwest and LA is equally "fucked up" for 30% producers. You will get 30 votes for LA and 3 votes for Midwest, but they are equaly fucked up.. Its just an example, but your poll results will be very unreliable

I book newbie models from all over the U.S. and mostly without agents in recent times, but luckily most shoots go pretty smoothly anyway. This, even though I'm usually shooting girls with no or at best very limited adult modeling experience and creating a lot of content in a day. I haven't shot adult movies in LA in over ten years, and I wouldn't want to go there again with the style and amount of content that I shoot nowadays.Comment

It depends on the girl.... some brand new girls are great, in fact most are. Some agency girls are great but most get an attitude after being in the business for a bit.Comment

Way too much to travel with at this point. Last year I finally started selling off most of the older video lights, film still cameras, SD videocameras, SD decks and other miscellaneous audio, video & lighting gear that I no longer use on Ebay recently for decent money since I take pretty good care of my gear.Comment

I rent a van to travel. only take 4 cameras, audio gear and 1 set of HMI's and 1 set of profoto stobes. as well as all the model crapola like toys, wardrobe, summers eve, babywipes tec.... I have only modern gear... got rid of the other stuff years ago... been shooting to card for 3+ years I think. I shoot my nikons until they blow the shutter, have them rebuilt under warrenty and sell them, then upgrade models...Comment

Couldn't disagree more. About 60% of my shoots are local (Ohio and the Northeast). The remainder are brought in from LA/Miami via agencies. I have way bigger issues with agencies girls. And its always the little things. Not knowing what they are shooting, who they are shooting for, what they need for the shoot. etc.
Could be that I have a chance to pre-screen the local talent and methodically go over everything before booking the shoots. Something I guess agents do not feel is part of their job requirement.
I do agree the results will be a little skewed in favor of the west coast as the "LA porn bubble" is very well represented on GFY.--

yeah that's the thing for sure... the agencies think they produce our shoots and yet as much as they try and manipulate the productions they allways seem to never clue the model in.
I usually say something like well if the model is gonna dump the shoot because they don't like the talent I better get soneone else so my shoot doesn't fall apart and to the models I say beats me I told them everything, look here's the email....
I let the bullshit fall where it's been earned
