    Traffic leaks.... [biz thread]

OK... So certain program owners like Shap have voiced their opinion about their affiliates using dating sponsors and sex toys in their galleries where the sponsors content also is being used.

They didn't like it. Basically in Shap's case it was because he felt the affiliate was using his content to sell other peoples shit.

So when I send surfers to sponsors like Hush Money and they popup an AFF popup when the surfer enters their website, should I be offended since this is basically a sale I should be sharing in?

Its all up to you really. If they're paying me PPS or 60+%, I'm much more lenient about what they can get away with. If its 50%, no leaks as a standard, if its something that really makes me money I'll overlook that.

Its all about the money made really. There isn't a black and white. Its all gray.

Same opinion as Sly in a nutshell basically. If it's a 50% revshare program, having leaks is just plain shite.

Should the affiliate also share the B/W and Hosting expense in the revshare model?
Should they share in the cost of content, payroll and business expenses?

Just curious where you draw the line?

Sure, and then they can share in my BW expenses when I get them mad views on theHun... They can then pay my designer and pay my partner account fees.

I guess the bottomline is if you don't like how the program is run then don't promote it. At the end of the day you have to evaluate your profit margins, just like the affiliate program.

Start you're own program then you can do whatever you want

Otherwise you play by their rules

Sorry for the delay in response, I didn't see this when it came up.

We have no popups anywhere on any of our sites, and never have. I'm wondering if maybe you have HushMoney mixed up with some other program? We tried promoting AFF early last year in the old member's areas, but it didn't do very well for us, so we removed it about a month later and haven't put anything back up. (This was on HoDough BTW). Neither HushMoney nor HoDoguh hasn't ever put popups up to my knowledge (Unless it was before my time, and most definitely not in the past year). If you're referring to our EXIT link on the current warning pages... I'd rather send the traffic somewhere that potentially earns $ when they exit, as opposed to sending to Google and completely losing the surfer.

Feel free to hit me up if you need anything. ICkEW: 12six36661

Any program that pops another programs sites on a console on load should be avoided like the plague.

The idea of a 60% partnership is a partnership - the affiliate and the program making money together. From what you are explaining, it would appear that one partner is profiting off of the other one.

Have you checked your computer for Zango and friends? They could be popping up AFF.
