After over 10 years, my JVC has finally failed me and won't record anymore video so I'm stuck with just a picture update this week....Anybody have ideas on a good camera and where I could purchase it?....I'm looking at overstock.com now.

Yes after I posted that, I decided to look at bestbuy's website...I guess i'll go pick up a Sony handicam for $330 tomorrow...I don't need a lot of bells and whistles as I just shoot average amateur hoes in the back of my van.Comment

any of the small consumer HD cams is fine... I prefer the Sony's myself about 1k, need a wide angle adapter, about another 200 and a few dual pro cards, say 100 and a bigger battery say another 80 or so i think... maybe 25 for a small bag .
www.sonystyle.com or amazon etc..Comment

I use this one because of the little knob you see right under the left side of the lens. alows me to control exposure... that's about all I need besides white balance..

I think you'll need a wide angle attachment as well for shooting pov stuff or close, like inside a van... get a good one so you can focus through it... this should last 3-4 years or more... BTW you can go straight to HD but I always use cards...Last edited by Grapesoda; 02-15-2011, 06:25 AM.Comment

Thanks but I bought the Sony Handycam...I got it with insurance for $330. It will meet my needs and it is small enough that I can hang it around my neck and walk around with it with family.I use this one because of the little knob you see right under the left side of the lens. alows me to control exposure... that's about all I need besides white balance..
