Here are a few tips you may find helpful.

Make the button in your sig clickable. You seem to want business to come to you, more than going out and finding business. Fixing the button alone isn't going to do you wonders, but with a large part of your sig not working tleaving it dead isn't doing you any favors in that department.

Invest some money into your site design. The most important area of your site is what appears "above the fold", or what a surfer sees without having to scroll down. This is where you really MUST grab their attention and you are wasting nearly all that real estate with a header image containing text. No one is going to want to put their money, time and effort behind marketing a site that doesn't appear to have any money, time and effort put into the design itself. It's not about how much money you spend, but you need to have a professional design done. To make money with something that looks like geocities is possible, but you would need to have some REAL compelling content.

If you want to do business act professional and respectable. Taking a piss on Amelia because she called you out isn't really the best move. If you want to acknolwedge it or not doesn't change the fact that she is a respected member of this community and you are not. She is a proven business professional who has run a successful program for over a decade.

And lastly, be straight about who you are. No one is going to want to work with someone who is already pretending to be someone else. No rep to burn when you're talking to an imaginary persona. If you want to bullshit surfers, fine, but that kind of crying game bullshit has no place in this world. You would get more business done by being yourself, Max Ford or whoever you really are. You don't have to give out your first and last and home address, but at least be straight about your gender.

I have made a lot of deals from GFY, both deals in which I give money and deals in which I receive money. I have made relationships here which resulted in convention meetings which resulted in long-term business and personal relationships. And this is the best place to see what's going on in the industry (and outside of it even), trends, new sites, new niches, promos, etc.

It sounds like you're coming here very one-sided with a specific idea of what you should be getting from GFY. This place is more about having an open mind to gleaning information and developing relationships that you can learn and grow from.

Also, there are A LOT of good sites offering advertising here, if you know where to find them and how to approach them. But good websites are not going to be CHEAP so if you're immediately turned off by whatever you perceive as expensive that could be a detriment to your growth.

Quoted for the real reason you won't make any good deals in this industry.
