I made the mistake of going to see it last saturday at 2pm. It dragged on and the theatre was full of kids talking and kicking the back of my seat all the way through.
At the end one of them was searching for his shoe I found it and tossed it down a few rows!

It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life.
One: Great - Loved just about everything about it
Two: Good, but lacking something that one had
Three: WHAT THE FUCKING JESUS FUCK WAS THAT SHIT ALL ABOUT?
The money it makes does not a good movie make. Star Wars Eps 1-3. The Blair Witch Project. Enough said.
No, but it's a pretty good indication of what the majority of people think, at least at the time.
And GFY always thinks the opposite of what the rest of the world thinks.
I wouldn't say genius, though the comparison is quite valid.. albeit a bit extreme. The mentality of the majority rarely changes, they like what's "in". At one time it was slavery. Another it was the Crusades. Hell just recently, as in the last couple of years, it was for the unjust war in Iraq that has left hundreds of thousands dead. Right now it's a shitty movie with pirates in it. I'm sure people who enjoy that movie would have fit in well in the Deep South a century and a half ago.

It's not valid in the slightest actually. But then nothing you say ever does make sense, you're just here to be funny. And you've achieved that yet again.

I loved 1, was a little disappointed in 2. I want to see it, but I will wait until DVD. 3 hours is too long for me in a theater. Home on the big screen is so much better!
different movies cater to different tastes. you're always gonna get about a 50/50 reaction to a blockbuster movies like this. half will love it, the other half will hate it...2c

no, it's just a good indicator of the strength of the franchise or how well it's been marketed... has nothing to do with how good a show is.
movie kinda sucked actually... i almost left when keith richards came out.. the one liners sucked really bad.. and really, the only thing it had going for it is the ship battles..
The first hour dragged and was really uninteresting, but the final hours were pretty intense. And the ending did leave good potential for a fourth movie.
I liked it.. even though the plot gets a little convoluted at times. They went a little over the top with some stuff.. like all of the sudden jack sparrow pulls of moves at the end that would make Spider-Man jealous.. but still a good flick.
I liked the first one, but didnt love it. Hated the second one.
I thought this was the best of the 3.
i enjoyed the movie very much...although the Jack's lines arent as funny as the first two movies, it was fairly good. The kids just ruined my day spoiling every scene and munching his snacks like crazy...
