Every BBS that I visit is full of threads asking for 20+ hits a day and yada yada. Then there are the threads which ask for around 500-1k a day (what I'm looking for) and 99.9% of these fools turn out to be cheaters. Then there's the other .1% which actually run nice sites - except these people pretty much have their trade base down pact and just trade with the same webmasters they've known to avoid getting fucked over (what I'm doing right now, but I still need more trades). So how do I find real trades? Is there a secret lil bbs somewhere that I am missing full of honest webbies? or do I have to put on my surfing goggles and just go find sites I like and request trades (quite a bit of work and reboots due to popups from shit sites - but if I have to, I will)?

what i did was start sending traffic to the site I wanted to trade with. it's hard to ignore if it's several thousand hits a day. (i.e. 5K plus uniques)
EVERYONE I did that with traded back with me, some took a week, some took a year, but I got those I wanted to trade with by that method. And I didn't even tell them I was sending the traffic, I just started sending it. It didn't matter if they told me that they didn't want any new trades or such, I knew that once they saw the quality of my traffic over a sustained period of time and that I was a stand up guy they would EVENTUALLY come around and send some traffic back.

Forget the boards. Why don't you just go to some known trustable sites and look at who they're trading with. Then try to trade with some of those sites in the way that Sleazy suggested. It helps to have some good references so people know you're trustable.Comment
