Any sport can be boring or exciting depending on you perception, importance of the game, and even how that particular game plays out. However, as J. Falcon put it, it's the perspective of the viewer that determines how enjoyable a sport is. Personally, I never watch any sporting even on my own. If I'm around a group of spectators who are actively involved in a game being played, then I'll naturally be more involved. For instance - I'd never watch a soccer game. However, I had the unfortunate situation of spending three weeks in England. The wife and I went to the local pub nightly and one night there was a soccer game of some magnitude that the pub was packed - it was a blast to watch. I don't know who won, who was playing or what, but it really was fun to watch just by pure energy of all other spectators in that pub. *shrug*Your post count means nothing.Comment

Watching baseball is for genuine idiots. It is hands down the most boring sport inthe world to WATCH. The sport itself is great fun, but god fucking damn is it terrible to be a spectator. I like them both, but I do not get into it till the season is almost coming to a close. I really think they should shorten the baseball season, it would get more people interested in it. How are they going to care where when they have 120 games to go till the world series.

I get what your saying and everything, but you cant just shorten/lenghthen a professional sports season, not just because of tradition etc. but because of records. The past two times the home run record was beaten it was done so in a longer season (maris played a shorter season I believe, but I know ruth did). Mcquire did it in more games, and bonds did it in just as many games as mcguire, so obviousley if you short the season to 120 theres rarely going to be a recod broken. My father died when I was a baby, and my step father was from Europe and had no interest in American sports. I was a basketball star when I was in high school, and also did baseball, basketball, and track.
Even though I played sports, I never understood the interest in professional or college sports. I just don't get it.
It's like porn - Would you rather get laid or watch someone else having sex? Granted, maybe they can do it better than you and look better doing it, but watching someone else do something is just plain boring to me.
Baseball sucks. I've been to one professional baseball game in my life and it put me to sleep. I'm not kidding; I feel asleep in the stands.

i know lots of guys like Richard who like to play sports but don't watch any. it's something you get hooked on as a kid or you don't. i remember being 6 years old and my best friend was already big into hockey and baseball, collecting cards, making scrapbooks, watching - i had no interest, just wanted to play with toy cars and trucks. then the next year I joined little league and minor hockey and I became addicted to following sports - reading about them, watching them, playing them - i am not the addict I once was but it's still a big part of me.
i do know that the best athletes I know never had much interest in watching sports. most sports writers and broadcasters were the kind of athletes as kids who were the last kid picked for a team or never made a high school team.
i was in the middle, good enough to make teams but not a star - i appreciate the amazing talent guys have. i have played some sports with ex-pro's and it is amazing how much better than they are than even a good weekend warrior type.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting.
