yea, it makes things faster, but it rapes the server badly too, don't be surprised if your ip starts getting banned all over the place... :-/

Simple really. In the address bar type "about:config" and a list of a whole bunch of options will display. In the area where it says "Filter:" type "network.http" and it'll list only the entries with that word in it.

Now left click and highlight the option:

Right click on the option and click on modify:

Enter in the new value and click OK.

Close browser and restart or continue surfing...

It is very correct that this isn't exactly the servers favourite kinda visitor ;) But I've had this turned on the several months now with no problems at all

I've had the "hack" running for nearly 2 years. I haven't been banned anywhere.

You can also use the addon called 'Tweak Network'

Works great for this and a few other important settings.

Heard about this tweak awhile ago, but you had to mention Teenie Files to actually get me to try it ah!

It does show some improvement here (not majooooorrr) over the default 8!

Doubt that will be the case given Firefox seems to come with "8" as default, in worst case scenario you should have the same loading speeds = no improvement!

number of connections to the server is controlled by some Indian dude, Apache I think his name is.
if Apache says you get two connections then thats all you are going to get. don't make a shit what the browser asks for.

Mine was set at 2. I changed to 25 and GFY has never been faster.
