              The movie is set up as a re-enactment of the original documentary footage. It also uses "never-before-seen archival footage that is integrated into the film." All this "original documentary footage" was shot by the filmmakers as part of the production. All the people in the "original documentary footage" were paid actors. The "real" Dr. Abigail Tyler is played by actress Charlotte Milchard. Also Dr. Abigail Tyler is not based on a real person.

                                  No, it wasn't real, and it was kind of a weird choice they made to have "real"(with actors) footage then the famous actors playing the people in the real footage. It was trying to be too fucking meta, and it ended up being confusing.

                                  I will say that the unknown actress who played the doctor(with the big weird eyes) was phenomenal. I was pretty captivated watching her.
