    Rioters in Egypt are different than USA

    I was watching the riot videos in Suez City, Egypt.

    I noticed that the rioters were not breaking into stores and getting new TVs and tennis shoes even though the people are much poorer.

    I guess this says something about USA's rioters' real motives.

                      Most riots swell in participant numbers purely for the stealing and anarchy of it all. Most probably don't even know the real reason for the unrest.

                      For example, it is well known that many football (er, soccer...) riots in Europe are influenced by groups not necessarily involved with the clubs that are apparently fighting.

                                          Also the amount of video coverage coming out is very limited from what I see here. On BBC and Sky and CNN.

                                                      I was in Cairo in August, been to Egypt around 8 times so far. It's unbelivably dirty and I am sure there aren't many stores selling high end TVs in Suez City.

                                                                      the MAJORITY of the people of egypt are standing as 1 agaisnt the government...All the pepople in the country own those stores and buissness ..they are not going to ruin what little they have.

                                                                      if and when a MINORITY of people from Any country that feels they are being opressed by the Majority of the PEOPLE and Goverment they will loot and riot because they have nothing to lose and dont actually own anything so when they are breaking iinto stores and stealing TV and liqour they justify it by saying "how come they got and i dont".... I.E LA Riots ,new orleans.

                                                                                                              In this case..the looters a a very small group and not considered protesters..they are common thieves that are using this situation to try and take advantage of the lack of police presence....the people u see gathered in the majort protest areas are not banding together and looting and burning private or public buissness.

Assholes went crazy when Montreal won a hockey game (3 games away from the cup). Assholes not only smashed windows and looted stores but they torched 17 police cars. Fucking assholes. And of course there was the summit last summer in Toronto where again, what could have been a peaceful productive protest again turned into rioting and looting.

In my time traveling in Egypt I found the average person to be very pious. You are safer walking the streets in most parts of Egypt as a tourist vs southern Italy.

Looters are poor people, not giving a damn on protests, leadership, politics, etc. And what is deterring them is the vigilante groups in neighborhoods and the army in the center (including at the Egyptian Museum), but that's for the few days still left for Mubarak, until he flees or is captured by senior army officials. After that, when a power vacuum is in place for many days, you'll see the real looting.

The areas targetted in Egypt where the mass raping of women and children and the looting, fires and killings are taking place are the Christian areas. The Muslim Brotherhood have called for all Christians to be chased out of the middle east or be killed. This is why Mubarak has withdrawn the police and sent in the military, because he is combating with a psychopathic terrorist muslim organization. It seems the wars the Americans are fighting in Afghanastan and Iraq against the terrorists have now spread to Egypt. I expect America will need to increase military aid to Egypt in the future to help Mubarak or otherwise we might find American and its allies being drawn into another war in the region against this growing terrorist threat.

That's great that you want to bring McDonald's down, but by bringing down a local business and putting all of the people who worked there out of a job sort of defeats the purpose.
