all the affiliate networks are either fucked up or shave that make adult shaving seem like a happy ending...
if you have enough traffic you can bypass the affiliate nets and go direct in a lot of cases..
everyone fucks each other over in the mainstream game, they just don't talk about it as much as adult...

I have never worked for, but have consulted with and been courted by a few of the larger mainstream CPA networks. Some are better than others, but Clickbooth was by FAR the worst. They seriously bring kids off the street at 30k base, run them through a breif training course and then push them on to the floor. These are your "account managers".
You're also right about mainstream. Because they aren't coined the "dark side" the perception is they run things cleaner than the adult end of the market, but nothing can be further from the truth. Honestly I think in adult we are more innovative with affiliate program features, ad tools, etc. and mainstream leads the space when it comes to shady billing practices like prechecked cross sells and continuity offers, etc. They did it first, they did it "best".

In the mainstream rebill space the advertisers try to defraud the networks and customers, the networks try to steal the affiliate's traffic sources and the affiliates break all the FTC advertising rules.
Things seem like they've calmed down a bit since 2008 and 2009, but I won't touch that shit with a 10 foot pole. You can still gross over $1m a month in mainstream without rebill offers.
Quite frankly 2257 was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I bailed on adult and never looked back.Comment

I always hear those kinds of numbers thrown around. My guess is that there are less than a hundred guys worldwide making that kind of money. And they are NOT a single guy with a computer.
Have you ever made over $1,000,000 a month without rebills in "mainstream"?
By the way...people saying "mainstream" is pretty disingenuous in and of itself. It really should be broken down into actual industries.
For instance, a guy who is an affiliate of "ShamWow" would have to sell a lot of that to equal ONE sell of a big RV.
Put it on an equal playing field and one guy working on a computer in his bedroom can make over a million dollars a year in adult. You can't say the same for mainstream. Not saying that nobody ever has in mainstream...but I personally know lots of guys who have in adult. Hell, I'm typing this on the computer in my bedroom right now.

I don't see the difficulty in getting a rough picture od earnings based on traffic....
If you value a click at $0.04 you can see a websites ranking and get a rough estimate of traffic and therefore how much money it can make by monitorising the traffic.
There is a lot of money in porn when every click is worth at least $0.04...Comment
