Domain names are fucking brilliant. If you buy a $100000 domain name that earns $10000 each month, you will hit breakeven in about 4 months. Net value of domain name + income earned = $100000
If you are able to get a better return on your domain traffic than current pay per click returns, then the breakeven point would be less than four years, maybe a lot fucking less. Then, after breakeven, all income is pure fucking gravy. The only risk is that the Web is thown out for something different before you break even. Obviously I meant "about 4 years" and if you don't use pay per click, let's say you have your own product, maybe you can hit breakeven in 1 or 2 years. Fuck, I know somebody who more than doubled their income from pay per click and then they made a deal with a site and their income went up 4000%. That is a cool way to look at it. Some things you didn't mention. The value of the domain's traffic will increase as time goes by. The volume of traffic could increase. The value of the domain name will increase over time with the increase in either of those other factors as well as with the increase of people coming to the Web who understand these things. As the demand for quality domain names increases, so does the value based on that demand. I only sell domain names when I get great offers, otherwise I just take in money hand over fist and watch their value grow.Comment
