    Can You Legally

    Take pictures of hot chicks leaving clubs and post them on a blog? I live in California so not sure if it's different by state?

        People have "personality/publicity" rights, and I believe in California such rights are even stronger by law. If you commercialize the images, your liability may be greater.

        Of course, maybe you can make some "fair use" arguments and such (but commercializing undercuts fair use arguments)

            I don't know if a club owner would like it too much.
            Some people may not want to be pictured coming out of a club.

            When the paparazzi takes pictures they know who they are photographing;
            you would be photographing people whom you know nothing about.

                I would ask an attorney after GFY, just to get a second opinion.

                    I hate to cite wikipidia, but check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality_rights.

                    You can also google "publicity rights" or "California publicity rights" and undoubtedly get some info. Remember you are in California, the home of hollywood, therefore the laws with respect to the exploitation of someone's likeness are stricter in CA I believe...

                      There is a difference between a public (i.e. celebrity) and private citizen and their expectation of privacy. However, I would do as others have said and consult an attorney fine sire.

                        Is it legal to take pictures of girls feet with out them knowing?
                        Possibly, but expect to spend a lot of time in the company of police officers who take a different view.

                                When it's a celebrity which is a public figure different rules apply and it's fare game. But for a regular citizen they aren't public figures so not sure how it applies to them

                                  I suspect you're going to encounter some difficulty trying to pass off a fair use or public space argument in this situation.
