    UFO and I've got pics!

    I was down in Ft. Lauderdale a few weekends ago and was fortunate to attend their annual Air and Sea Show and while I'm not a big fan of aeronautics I'm always up for anything cool and this event delivered. There were lots of Unfamiliar Flying Objects to me but I did recognize the F-22 Raptor and the B-2 Stealth Bomber. The Raptor put on an amazing demonstration showing some of it's capability and I watched in disbelief as the pilot took it from near mach speed to almost a standstill as it hovered above us.

    They say this is one of the worlds largest spectator events and I'm glad I got to check it out. Here are a few pics I managed to take when I wasn't getting lost in the crowd.

                              Great photos.

                              They used to do that show at Mc Dill Airforce Base. But since 9/11 that dont anymore. Since mainly it is the home of SAC for the US. They are currently running the fiasco in Iraq from there.

                              But it was always amazing as a kid to go to the shows there, because you got to watch the planes fly, as well as see some of them on the ground.

                                                              Thanks everyone for the compliments on my pics. I've been to plenty of sporting events with flyovers but I never got to see a Stealth Bomber so that's what I was looking forward to seeing the most and it didn't disappoint. I forgot to mention that A1A and the bridges to it were closed to traffic for the show so the entire Ft. Lauderdale beach became one big block party. Here are a few more.

                                                                                                                                                                                      I shot these with a Canon 20D and a 70-200 lens. Would have been nice to have had twice the lens but as you can see I was able to grab a few with what I had to work with.

                                                                                                                                                                                      One thing I tried to do is add something else to the pic like the palm trees to help give the picture some perspective. It shows how low the planes are and at what attitude. Mix it up a little and not have every shot be just the plane against a blue sky.

                                                                                                                                                                                      For those looking for a UFO you should know that U.F.O. stands for Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't automatically mean a space craft from outer space. I said I didn't really know what some of the planes were so they were UFOs. Of course I knew some people would be looking for space craft hence the thread title
