This is the anniversary of the Haiti

...earthquake and the latest number for those that were killed is 316,000. The place is still in ruins...very little has been done to rebuild.
When you're running down my country hoss...you're walking on the fighting side of me!

85% of the population was in poverty yes, but it is much worse now makes you wonder what happened to the 10 Billion that was raised to rebuild the place.

Haiti won't get better until the people begin to help themselves at their own expense.

No matter how much money the world pumps into that economy, the country will continue to progressively get worse until the people collectively get the chip off their shoulder which leads them to believe that the world owes them something (even if they don't express it).

(Of course when called out regarding such, they often are the first to adamantly deny this)

The above might sound cold to some, given what that nation has gone through, but I've seen first hand how their people have a tendency to leech off of the goodwill of others, continue to ask for more and simultaneously resent the persons helping.

Anyone who has studied their culture can clearly see that unless they are literally taken over by a foreign entity, that nation will be in the same state a decade from now.

What's ironic is that Haiti is actually a very resource rich nation and has many millionaires and wealthy persons. However they just do not want to get their act together for some reason.
