I think your right about the war but after these two its done David Chase said he has nothing else to say as far as the sopranos go.

Oh he's just bullshitting us. He knows damned well that by leading into a mob war he's baiting the audience to a feature film. If he does the movie version it will make so much money it's stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if a Sopranos movie hit the top 5 money makers of all time EASILY but it's gotta be done right. Do one and you can do 2, 3, 4, etc.

He's got a guaranteed movie monster on his hands and HBO ain't gonna let him walk with it.

I feel you guys. War is inevitable, but with just two episodes to go, how good can it be? I can see a hugely disappointing finale to this awesome series on the horizon.

Tonights episode rocked. One of my theories has always been that after a war Tony ends up running the whole show and has jersey and NY. There may be a movie too. The girl that plays Tony's sister was on Jimmy Kimmel a few days ago and he asked her if she lives though the end and she said something to the effect of, "I hope so that way I can be in the movie if they make it.

I've been saying that for two years now.

Too much talent and too much of a money potential for them not to make a movie. I'm disappointed that Christopher didn't make it as Imperioli was one of the main reasons to watch the show.

The final two episodes will probably see someone major die or an attack on Tony by Phil in retaliation for Phil's brother being killed by Tony's cousin.
Maybe Phil misses a close person to Tony or maybe Tony breaks the rules and beats the crap out of Phil because Phil's such a prick.

Anyway I think it will lead up to Tony and his family closer and surviving some major disaster only to then retaliate against NY or maybe NY getting hit HUGE by the feds leaving Tony and NJ unscathed and Tony having NY wide open for his taking. That would be SWEEEEET!

I guess some times they just end shit...

look they never did godfather 4 and andy garcia was set up for the next role....

not sure how it works with how actors get paid and all comparing hbo to doing a movie--I would think a movie would be a way bigger payday---but then again would sopranos movie sell outside of the USA----not sure...

They didn't do a Godfather IV because of one reason:

Francis Ford Coppola is an egotistical asshat. His 'feelings' got hurt because the critics panned his daughter's performance as Michael's daughter in the movie. She was nowhere near the quality of actress for the role but he let his ego and heart get in the way of business and they got stomped flat.

'WWaaaah! I'm Francis Ford Coppola! Waaaah they laughed at me! I'm a big baby! Waaaah!'

That's the ONLY reason for there not being a Godfather IV.

The Sopranos has great potential for further stories and a venue for new actors etc. It would be a crime not to pursue it further.
