How many affiliates are still manually changing out links?

How many affiliates these days manually have to go into their network and adjust links/drop links by hand?

I would figure most, if not all affiliates have some kind of ad solution to make this easy... but I am curious how many out there still do everything by hand.

I use a custom thumb system, it's a bit of a hassle to remove links, but I can also apply a ratio to them.

For example, lightspeed galleries now have a ratio of 0.1%, which effectively removes them from ever appearing on my sites.

I do have a lot of old pages I don't bother to touch and if I do change affil program (Which obviously is not very often)- I do it by hand.

I don't use this one personally but I've been told http://www.blogdesk.org/en/index.htm is pretty good.

I use my TALS script. If a sponsors paysite dies I change 1 link on my database and it's redirected somewhere else. Saves me money and time. Then when I do have time I can remove that gallery or page with the link on it.

I remember when Zorgman came up w TALS .. really handy tool that lil thing is !... at the time I also had my own custom PHP file which contained a series of "?id=" variables that I could edit from one file and change all links throughout my entire network.. really good stuff...... Zorg's solution was far more elegant tho...

I think not having a dynamic way of changing links throughout your network is just crazy!...

I'm about to release TALS v1.2 this week. It's got a makeover and it's not encoded this time. There will still be a free version which you can download on Bigdotmedia.com, but also a paid version (around $20). It really is a life saver when programs just close over night.

I've been using TALS for a while and was staring to integrate it into my network I am building now. I would love to see this version when you get it made. TALS itself rocks! I look forward to seeing how you improve it.

unfortunately I'm doing some work for someone at the moment with pages from 2006/2007 and the amount of dead links in there are crazy, hand switching.

cant even search and replace as all the links point to different galleries etc.

need to get all the dead stuff off for the SE's

not as feature-packed as TALS, but this still works great
