Anyway, I've spent 14 years of my adult life sober. 12 straight and then went out for 9 and back again now for 2 years. When I got sober the second time I reviewed the options of AA after spending years in that life before and literally 1000's of AA meetings under my belt.

Fuck those losers crying about life's simple shit all god damn day. I then read the 12 steps again and just fucking laughed because noway would I even do 1 of the 12.

This is what I do know. I got sober at 20 years old and then started drinking at 32 and I NEVER could fully enjoy drinking because in the back of my 12 year 1000's of AA meetings brainwashed mind it always told me I was an an alcoholic. The remedy was to drink more to shut it up. The moral of the story? - If you go to more then 100 AA meetings in a year and stay sober and you are NOT an alcoholic?...you are one now.

I am offered drinks daily and I never get the itch because I wanted to quit and know without a shadow of doubt, I'll never get drunk again. Why? because I don't want too. In all actuality I feel more safe and happy leading a sober life do to the early years of AA brainwashing. In short, it feels normal to me.
AA/NA did nothing for me. I'm not saying it doesn't help because I am sure it has saved thousands of lives, however, if a court says.. "Hey.. you have to go do this for 5 years twice a week".. it just made me more angry... which of course led to continued use. You've got to want it and nobody is going to force sobriety on any addict or alcoholic.
