But a related topic, given the current political climate and threats of violence, what's the potential liability (ie. lawsuits by the victims) of private venues hosting political events?
Safeway's reputation is already getting slightly tarnished from this - not much in the whole scope of things, but anything that dissuades even a small percentage of potential customers is something many businesses seek to avoid.
According to some news articles, some venues already were leery of hosting "Congress on Your Corner" and the like - and now, given the latest shooting, presumably even more places will pass on hosting such political events.
