and herein lies the problem. if they are paying into the system, that means they have a social security card right? They drive, they need a license right? You need proof of who you are to obtain these documents.... Granted, documents can be forged... but it would seem that we have a record of all these illegals.Of course you're entitled to your opinion, I never said you weren't. What I'm saying is your selfish attitude is fucked and not a solution to the problem. People should be allowed to come to this country and work to better their lives. Laws need to be changed to make this easier. Your claim that you are "paying the way" for "fucking illegals" is bullshit. Illegals pay into the system.
So if that is true, we know they are here "Illegally" and we do NOTHING about it... what does that tell you about our enforcement of law.
The ones not in the system are the ones that are a serious problem. No emergency room in the country can deny you treatment, especially if it's life threatening. So if they are not paying into the system, and they cannot pay for treatment... who do you think pays for that? The taxpayer.
I believe there are more here unregistered than their are registered.
No easy solution to this problem..... But I would agree with sending them into combat. Why not? If they are truly here to be a law abiding American, let them fight for their freedom as our ancestors did when this country was founded. Nothing wrong with that. I mean after all... they did break the law.... seems like a fair exchange for jail time or deportment.

like i said. no freaking way. i am not arming some pissed off mexicans who are invading OUR country through the backdoor.ROFL... Jesus fucking christ, you'd practically be arming a FOREIGN ARMY in the process then inviting them within your borders. You'd have to have one helluva quota on how many you let in the army otherwise you'd be fucked if they decided to have a little march towards D.C. and install their own president.Comment

Amen to that. Only a fucking brain-dead twit could possibly think it was a good idea to arm a foreign army with our modern military technology and then invite them back within our borders.

What foreign army?
You think I want to ship arms to the Mexican military moron? These people will become members of the U.S. military numbnuts.sig too bigComment

Doubtful. I pay my (possibly illegal - don't ask, don't tell) Mexican lawn guy $10 an hour. I'm sure an American kid would do it for $10 an hour. But they wouldn't work their ass off like my Mexican does
Produce won't go up in price. Housing won't go up in price. Manual labor won't go up in price. The marketplace sets the prices - not the sellers. Profits for those using the illegals to make money will go down.Comment

Good grief. Reading this thread, it looks like we are more in need of Americans getting educated before posting on message boards, than Mexicans in the US forces before they are allowed to immigrate.
That or apparently there is no argument so dumb that racists will not use it to disguise their racism. If you don't like Mexicans in particular or immigrants in general, why not just say so?Comment

Dammit. 35 years in business and I always thought costs mattered
Okay so the theory you described is correct as it stands, but it is only part of the picture. "The marketplace" does reflect costs and when cost increases affect a significant proportion of an industry, unless margins are high and/or demand weak, that industry will increase its prices. The most obvious recent example is gas. There are companies in every industry which set trends. If they swallow increases, so will most others. If not, prices rise. The same principle applies to price reductions.
Whether prices would rise across every industry in which immigrants are heavily involved, remains to be seen. But don't be in such a rush to declare flat out that there would be no increases at all.Comment

Cost and profit are two different things. If produce farmers thought they could charge $10 for a head of lettuce, they'd be doing it nowDammit. 35 years in business and I always thought costs mattered

And again, I've yet to see where immigrants are making LESS money. The company is probably saving 7.5% on SS per immigrant but certainly doesn't have to offer ANY employee health insurance. IMO, most immigrants truly are doing the work "Americans" won't do - they aren't necessarily cheaper - but they show up and work.
I was just in Mexico a couple of days ago and had a long talk with a guy who's a resident of Mexico and has a visa to work in the US. He said it's amazing how many illegals come and go - many own homes/property in the US, have US driver's licenses (which until 1/08 gets them back over the border) and more importantly,if it didn't take 8-15 years, they would become US citizens in a heartbeat.
IMO, making citizenship faster is the answer, not forcing a certain group of people into the military.Comment

Because I don't like what illegals have done with parts of every southwestern state I've lived in...and I mean turn it into their version of Mexico then I'm a "racist."Good grief. Reading this thread, it looks like we are more in need of Americans getting educated before posting on message boards, than Mexicans in the US forces before they are allowed to immigrate.

And when I speak of turning it into their version of Mexico, I mean replicate the dump that shithole of a country is...watching them ride their bikes through the traffic as if they're in Tijauna, sit on corners drinking beer then dumping their trash where they stand, furniture out on lawns watching boxing matches on t.v., restraunts with bathrooms so dirty they are only rivaled by flea market toilets.
I will generalize, because they have forced me to do so. Something I have never understood why a majority that I have dealt with have chosen to live their lives in such filth, even when they've moved to a country that gives them an opportunity to not have to.
Look at all the Hep C outbreaks at restraunts over the last 10 years, everytime I see one on the news it never fails...some Mexican in the kitchen didn't wash his hands after going to the restroom.
We have enough problems in this country without having to take on so many others. There is a plan in place for people to immigrate legally, let them do so.
In the meantime, you people who are willing to give up our country so easily to foreigners, fuck you.
In 1997, then-President Zedillo proclaimed that ?I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders.?
? Mexican American Legal Defense Fund founder Mario Obledo stated, ?California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesn't like it should leave. Every constitutional office in California is going to be held by Hispanics in the next 20 years.? People who don't like such demographic changes ?should go back to Europe.? (Incidentally, Mr. Obledo was also the California Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare under Gov. Jerry Brown.)
? Mexico's President Fox has been unrelenting in his brazen demands on the United States, starting with open borders even before he was elected. He has called for the border to be ?a joining line.? His visits to the U.S. have been filled with endless requirements for Mexican citizens illegally in this country ? free healthcare, taxpayer-subsidized in-state tuition for illegals at state colleges and universities, guestworker programs and amnesty for all.
