Videographer is only as good as your budget. People hamstring on price and in turn we lower the standard for locations, talent, makeup. It truely means it in this biz when you get what you pay for. Jay Rock is good, Jim Powers is good, I am good, Just Dave is Good. Its all about what you give us to work with. My 2 cents. All of the above has survived in this biz til now which means alot.

I agree with Joe that there are a lot of good guys in the biz that are still going strong. Some of us are more experienced in different niches then others so choosing the right producer is pretty important. Its not about who is the best but what works for the client and what type of budget they have.

I can personally guarantee that all of these guys are really good. But we all will start to suck ass when you try and negotiate an exclusive B/B/G anal scene with Alexis Texas, shot on an exotic location for $1200.

And booking 10 scenes and paying up front doesn't get you a lower price.

All respect to those here. The best guys shooting porn in LA, aren't shooting BG scenes for a few thousand dollars. Not available for a possible day a week and not looking for jobs on GFY.

i have yet to find out why there should be a price difference nowadays where everyone has a HD cam anyways.

location, the girl, the guy, the type of action, how long, matching pics or not - that's what makes the price. not if i switch my cam to SD or HD.

you know i see these big names, fancy sets/locations well lit sets but some douche is shooting and not getting any angles.
shit, any idiot can learn how to dial in the camera and light a set but only talented shooters know the good angles and have a natural feel for composition, they gotta be able to shoot from the hip and cant be afraid to be laying on the floor shooting various angles, need strong steady arms to hold camera still.
there are few shooters here with these qualifications.
