Whoops. I meant "Hotlink protected". If they are, why do they do that? Why do some sponsors allow it, and others don't? I was creating an entry for her in my blog, only to find out that hotlink protection is on.

Just host the pic you can still send traffic to it, you just cant show the pics from there -

Actually, that's what I had thought. I figured JayMan probably had a problem with people hotlinking RavenRiley galleries. I just didn't mention it in my original post. No reason to condescend, Jace. I just don't understand why other sponsors DON'T hotlink protect when they have very popular sites.Comment

We had major fusker issues.
We serve up our blog entries, tour images and tour videos on our bandwidth, we can't give everything away, but we try ;)Comment

sorry, I really didn't mean to condescend, it is just pretty easy to figure out why most sponsor disable hot linking on their free hosted materials
honestly, other sponsors don't because they either don't notice how much bandwidth sites like fusker and surfer forums steal from them, or they just don't care
I remember one sponsor I worked closely with got fuskered while they were asleep and woke up to find that fusker site had used up about 15,000gb while they sleptComment

I see. I really had no idea that it was taboo in the first place to hotlink to galleries if you are promoting the site. This is my first blog, and I thought it would make things quicker to hotlink. I mean, those of you who are running multiple blogs I'd think you'd want to do anything you can to make things faster right? Oh, well. Looks like I better upload the pics on my own host.Comment
