    Anyone here into Zen Buddism?

Not necessarily the hardcore varient of shaving your head, going to live in a monastery, and spending all your time meditating...

But just enjoy reading and pondering on some Buddhist quotes from time to time, and trying to stay peaceful and relaxed?

If so, post your fav Buddhist quote / saying

I practice a rare variant known as Jew Buddhism. It basically consists of getting stoned and reading Siddhartha. I like to call it Jewddhism...

        I don't like Zen Buddhism...

... It's for people who like (and only dwell on) "quotes".

Heres a quote from my fav Zen Master...

All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

Practicing for more than 15 years - 11 of which very hard core.

Just sit and be. Words just fall away. The rest is all bullshit.

For some reason zen Buddhism is considered as satanic religion by catholic church,so i stick with original Buddhism rather.

Everything is inpermanent, even impermanence itself.

To cling to anything is to bring suffering.

Nope, but got a decent amount of Theravada Buddhism flowing around the house. Just behind me in my office have a picture of the King, and another of Buddha. Plus a little table with a couple vases of flowers, a little dish with some Buddha amulets and more flowers, a little bowl with rice for the incense sticks, and even a bottle of fanta that we gave Buddha a while ago. He never drank it though. I guess he's not thirsty.

The better half usually blesses the office every few days. I think he just wants me to make more money. Then I usually get dragged to the temple every week or two for whatever-the-fuck celebration / festival.

But no, I'm not Buddhist at all. I just live in a Buddhist country.

Ya Hesse wrote some amazing stuff. I've gone through Siddhartha a few times. Started with Narcissus and Goldmund, then Journey to the East. Still got a couple I need to read, but everything he did was really good. Quick reads, but very deep.

Glass Bead Game has a bit more to it tha a lot of his books. Demian, Journey to the East, Siddhartha, I don't think one of them is more than like 150 pages at most. Siddhartha can be a one sit read if you want it to be. I picked up a copy of Beneath the Wheel out of a used book store a while back, never got around the reading it, but I should I guess. I've read most of his later stuff, skipped by a lot of the earlier work.
