Realising that the idea of a citizen exercising his/her Second Amendment Right and though that right, obtaining a permit to carry a weapon in a concealed manner often causes so-called "liberals" to run projectially at both ends, it is nevertheless a fact that the lawfully Armed Citizen is a good thing.
The scenario described by garco and others simply does not happen and the Armed Citizen stops or prevents over 2,000,000 crimes annually.

You do realize that you guys won this argument and that Gun Control is no longer a Democratic Party platform, right? As a matter of fact, the NRA endorsed quite a few Democrats during the mid terms. Many "liberal" states also have liberal carry and conceal laws. I am originally from Michigan and it is very easy to get a concealed weapons permit... just as easy as getting a permit for a pistol.
