So what are spanish prisons really like??? I think I might be finding out.
I just got arrested by spanish police for taking pics In a club that had no signs for taking pics !!!! WTF!!!!!
Anybody got bail money?

I was locked up in Dominican Republic when I was younger for taking my dads car out for a "joy" ride, and believe me there was nothing joyful about it. Will they let you access a atm? more than likely they are looking for a payoff

Ok so here's what happened... we went to this club around the corner from the hotel, and I was taking shots of the guys I was with and some others of the chicks in the club, after a while some guy from the club comes up to me and says NO pics . I said ok no problem, about 5 mins later the cops show up and want to know why I am taking pics, I said I'm just taking shots of my friends. They say you can't take shots in the club. I said please show me the sign on the door where it says no cameras allowed? There is none. Well where is your passport, sorry don't have it on me. Well we have to go back to the hotel and you have to show us. The cops do not speak any english at all. I go back to the hotel with them, show them the passport, they say ok but when in Spain you have to carry it with you. We go back to the bar. Meanwhile all the guys I was with are freaking out, worried that I'm in shit, but no one would listen to them for any explanation. Anyway the owner comes round and says sorry, so I said how sorry??? If you are really sorry then buy a round for everyone well he ends up buying only me a drink, cheap prick, and disappears, that is it in a nut shell

The most they could have given you for that is a small fine. Spain is a very civilized country with laws similar to the ones in every other european country. There is nothing to worry about

I can give you one piece of advice about Spain. DON'T under ANY circumstances give the doormen at bars in the turist areas a reason to harm you, because they will!! My own personal experience has been that the police closes their eyes in this particular situation.

Don't matter where ya go JFK - it's worth keeping at least a photocopy (image page) of your passport on you.

Had the same problem in other countries - basically a lack of ID stuff and obviously not a national, but cops where fine and tolerant of stupid tourists
