Good post but you failed to mention Iraq invading Kuwait in 1991. They pretty much looted the country, raped the women, killed all men of figting age, and then set fire to 600 Kuaiti oil wells as they got their ass chased through the desert.

We know nothing about this - it's all speculation. We don't know anything about whether there were even shots fired at a school or if there was any shots fired from a school or whether anyone was killed in a school as a result of copter fire.
All there are at this time is conflicting reports/denials - nothing more. Any further hypothesis on what the actions of any parties to that activity were, are also not known.

This was posted by me prior to the invasion in response to someone that posted there is absolutely no reason for war. The WMD issue was used by the admin to beat the drums of war when it was just one reason...from a list of reasons...to invade and was the least important reason.

This is the difference between "us" and "them". What happened here was a crime, plain and simple. Five soldiers were involved in a rape of an Iraqi woman. And because we are honorable people, the soldiers involved are being punished.
That's a big difference from 1991 when Iraq occupied Kuwait and pretty much had their way.

it has been used in Lebanon at 2006, in Iraq in 1990 and in Palestinian and at more occasions I don't remember:

Iraq suffered a massive defeat in 1991 when the US evicted them from Kuwait. Saddam was "allowed" to remain in power because the US had no intention of taking over Iraq; The purpose of the entire war was to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait and to protect other countries.
The terms of the surrender were rather specific. Some of those provisions included UN inspectors to ensure they didn't have WMD, and "no fly" zones so that the Iraq forces could not drop chemical weapons on it's own population as it had done a number of times before.
They had WMD; They used them before on Iran AND their own population. It should come as any surprise that we wanted to ensure they wouldn't use them again.
It was a simple matter of allowing UN inspectors in to ensure they weren't making more WMD and or to locate any such stockpiles - we already know for a fact Iraq once had them; They've used them before. But this was too much for Saddam and "Iraqi pride" (the same pride that caused the entire Iraqi army to go into hiding the moment we invaded!).
The terms of the surrender was not open to discussion; They were set in writing. Instead, Saddam decided to play a cat and mouse game by kicking out the UN inspectors whenever it suited him.
Iraq violated the terms of the surrender daily - and fired on US warplanes daily when doing so. There was dozens of reasons for us to go to war with Iraq, if only to enforce the terms of the surrender in 1991.
I'm currently reading "Cobra II" which details the events leading up to the invasion and the invasion itself. Some of the points are valid, some aren't. Seems to me Saddam felt he could get away with his cat and mouse game because he believed the US was "afraid of US deaths during a ground war". This is ironic being as we went up against the Iraqi army before in 1991 and kicked their asses with a surprisingly limited amount of US deaths.
And as for the WMD issue.... One of those weapons outlined in the terms of the surrender was missiles able to go over 100 miles. No one seems to mention that on the opening day of the war that Iraq fired such missiles at US troops - yet another violation of the terms of surrender.
There were dozens of reasons to go into Iraq. However, the US press and the world press picked up on WMD because it's the most threatening and it sells the most headlines - which is the end goal of the press.
Also, if you believe the press is nothing but propaganda... explain this to me.... Why don't we hear about how the US has rebuild schools, power plants, and roads? It's because it doesn't sell the headlines. Dead bodies do.Herschel Savage

I do not think they killed those kids on purpose. I am sure the ones that did kill the kids fell horrible. Yes they are doing their job, but that does not mean they do not feel bad about what happened. If you look at the history if the US military, they do not attack women and children on purpose. I am sure that it was a horrible accident.AZNewGirl.com

i question that.. i think if it was a case of someone invading my country, it wouldn't be a case of my 'hiding behind women and children', it be my reluctance to stand in the open and get mowed down by children who have no idea why they're firing weapons of anger.
